CEMEA del Mezzogiorno is an ONLUS (not for profit organization of social utility) placed in Rome and its action deals with disadvantaged young people, the promotion of non formal education through training, the development of local communities and active citizenships.

Our main activities in Italy can be summed up in: training stages for educators, teachers,  animators; educative centers for children, teenagers and youngsters; artistic and cultural activities within social programs; holidays and spare time centers;  international exchanges; workshops outside compulsory education;  ecological and environmental education; exchanges with universities; national and international meetings and seminars; publishing activities (bulletins, books, reviews…)

CEMEA’s (Training Centers for Active Education Methods) educational activity, combined with the international learning opportunities offered by the European Union, support participation, intercultural approach, local dimension and active citizenship as basic elements for collective and individual actions. 

We develop projects under the European programs:  Youth in Action; Leonardo da Vinci Grundtvig; Europe for Citizens; European Social Fund for Immigration and European Social Fund.

CEMEA del Mezzogiorno follows the meaning of Education for sustainable development (ESD) as stated by the UNESCO. Following this principles CEMEA del Mezzogiorno is one of the partner in the OTESHA process, initiated by Pistes Solidaires in 2010.

TRANSFER FROM THE AIRPORT OR TERMINI STATION TO THE RESIDENCE

One of our team will wait for you at the airport. When the whole planning of the arrivals and the departures will be complete we will also send instructions for meeting place and time.

LOCAL TRANSPORT

We will use public transport for all the week by buying a card for public means of transportation,  at a cost of 24 euros (covering all kind of transportation, day and night for 7 days).

The accomodation is Residence Girasole weekend: close to Porta Maggiore, one of the oldest main entrances to Rome. The apartments are housed in a property which was once the ancient Mill of Rome. Today, it has been transformed into an elegant building, thanks to a careful and thoughtful archaeological restoration. 

Each apartment is fully equipped elegant and comfortable and with all the required facilities and services for a comfortable stay: secure entrance, digital TV, wireless internet, air conditioning, washing machine, dishwasher, oven and microwave, linen towels and soaps. At your arrival you will receive a card with the access code for internet but you have to activate within the day of your arrival.

Each apartment has a bedroom with two individual beds and a living room with a single bed.
