I know my competencies and I know my value
From the list of competencies the participants have to choose which competencies they posses. By choosing a large number, to what the trainer should motivate, they discover how much they can do. This is also the way to reflect further on personal abilities.
To be done:
Awareness of own competencies, ability to describe skills and rising motivation.
From the list of competencies participants are choosing all they competencies by marking them. Then out of all they should choose 20 ‘top’ competencies (professional skills – 6/6 in SP) and out if these describe in pairs with trainers support a couple of skills giving examples from personal or work life explaining why are the competencies so well developed.
MATERIALS AND RESOURCES NEEDED:
Lists of competencies, a pen, space for discussion
STEP BY STEP PROCESS:
1. Division of materials
2. Explanation of the task
3. Discussion on the amount of competencies, feelings about the choices made,
4. Additional task: choosing 20 competencies
5. Division of group into pairs.
6. Describing competencies to one another
7. General discussion (if it was hard to choose, why, if it was hard or easy to describe and give examples).
Realising how many experiences one has and how many things one did.
Very good excersise, some troubles with making the decision which one are the most important or best developed.
NOTES FOR FURTHER USE:
The discussion should include reflection on personal skills learned outside work.
